Yandina Creek via Coolum Beach
A truely remarkable home.
Inspired by the architecture of the Orient this magnificent luxury executive -class residence features flawless architectural maturity at it's finest in a stunning and timeless design.
Mandalay is an amazing 1070 sq meters of total prestige and unique luxury style living created by local architect David Oliver of Greenway Mooloolaba.
This iconic residence is without doubt one of the finest Sunshine Coast mansions situated in a truly grand position on over 4001 sq meters of land 100 meters above sea level.
The residence consists of four air-conditioned Asian influenced rammed earth pavilions linked by steps and shaded pergola breezeway that stretches from the Porte-cochere through toward the solar-heated resort pool.
An infinity wet edge gives the impression it is spilling over to the valley below and across 14 kilometers of coastline between Coolum Beach and Marcus Beach over the southern end of the Noosa National Park.
There is comfort in the knowledge these picturesque views to the east and west are there forever.
Each magnificent pavilion is constructed of energy-efficient rammed earth forming external and feature internal walls, and concrete Monier slate roof towers.
The central tower constructed in exotic timber, designates the formal entry with double - studded doors opening into the formal living pavilion.
Absolutely stunning, unique and private this home includes wide terraces and pathways of fossilized Himalayan slate, terracotta tiles and stamped concrete that flow around the pool and outdoor terraces.
The pavilions comprise a separate 3 bedroom guest house, formal living and entertaining domain which contains the spacious lounge, dining room, state-of-the-art kitchen, and a powder room.
In addition the main sleeping pavilion offers two Master King sized bedrooms with en-suite, a spacious office with access to an upstairs library and reading room loft and 7th bedroom. The last pod houses a one bedroom guest/caretakers apartment across the wide covered breezeway with a sky lit roof.
All solid cedar doors are custom-made. Exotic timbers include iron-bark, black butt, silky oak, New Guinea rosewood and red cedar, and shadow-clad walls allow the flow of subdued colours to reflect the natural harmony of the environment.
Climate management in the main pavilion is environmentally stable with the solid rammed earth walls with heat provided by a log fireplace for cooler evenings, fans in the soaring timber-lined ceilings and banks of floor-to-ceiling glass sliders and doors merging indoors with the garden and terraces.
The self-contained ducted air conditioned guest house comprises a king bedroom, queen bedroom and double bedroom serviced by a split bathroom, comfortable lounge, kitchen and laundry, and sunny deck with direct access to the pool terrace.
On a lower level is a light filled artist's studio with three-phase power and lovely valley and ocean views is a very private and peaceful place and is next to a garden storage room beside the tank enclosure under the pool deck.
A Balinese carved arch separates the gallery foyer in the private bedroom pavilion between the centrally located office and the second master bedroom both opening to a wide balcony, with internal stairs to a split-level library and loft bedroom. A point of interest here are the solid beam trusses, steel plates and enormous bolts in the library, reading room and 7th bedroom. This area has two separate ducted air-conditioning systems.
The indulgent master suite off the gallery draws in the picturesque panorama at canopy height, with a wet bar behind Shoji screens, walk-in dressing room, and en-suite that boasts an exquisite Kohler bath framed in a picture window, walk-in double shower, and double-basin vanity.
Every room has panoramic views either east to the sea or west to the mountains, opening to landscaped gardens and expansive terraces.
The self-contained guest accommodation with air-conditioned living has been designed for two and has a separate bathroom.
Alongside are the double garage, and laundry, covered drying area and a large box room.
A large family room on the lower level incorporates an enormous games room, full bathroom catering for pool users, utility storage room and bar kitchenette ideal for corporate entertaining.

On an acre of bush land with winding nature walks, landscaped gardens of tropical exotics blend with flowering natives, brick-paved and pebble paths wrap around the complex. Grounds are reticulated and the home is serviced with 35,000 gallons of water.
A bank of visitor parking adjoining the large grassed garden, which is currently used as a pitching green, is suitable for other purposes including a full size tennis court or helicopter pad if required.
